Join me and the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation as we cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Blackwell House, one of the island’s six historical landmarks. 

Once open, areas of Blackwell House will become home to some of the island’s historical treasures, records, and archives. The first floor will be open to the public during specified days and hours of the week for viewings and tours. We invite the community to share in this socially distanced ribbon-cutting ceremony.

First Friday remains one of my favorite parts of my job as your Council Member. Though a virtual conversation is still the safest way to host group events, I want to listen to and address your concerns as we work together for a better city.

Learn about the importance of getting your flu shot, staying safe during a potential second wave, Medicare, home exercise, housing and more at our Virtual Senior Health Fair on Thursday, October 22 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. This event will be hosted in partnership with Assembly Member Dan Quart & Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright.

My office is hosting an information session on vote by mail, early voting, election day and third party lines, in partnership with Attorney General Letitia James, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Borough President Gale Brewer, Senator Liz Krueger, Assembly Member Dan Quart, Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, Assembly Member Richard Gottfried, Assembly Member Robert Rodriguez, Council Member Diana Ayala, Council Member Keith Powers, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, Community Boards 6, 8 and 11 and more.
 
This is a non-partisan event. There will be presentations from Early Vote NY, State Board of Elections and DemocracyNYC.

With hurricane season well underway, it is imperative that New York City residents are able to equip themselves with proper emergency preparedness tools to use at their disposal should they need them. That's why my office partnered with the City's Department of Emergency Management and a host of local elected officials to distribute Go-Bags.

Residents must have attended the virtual presentation on September 14th to be eligible to receive a Go-bag at the distributions on September 15th and 21st.

On Tuesday, September 8th from 6 – 7pm, my office will be hosting a Reopening Schools Virtual Town Hall, geared toward parents, caregivers, students and educators.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney will be the featured guest speaker and we have also invited the Department of Education to answer your questions on how to guarantee a safe reopening plan.
