Emergency Preparedness Go-Bag Giveaway

With hurricane season well underway, it is imperative that New York City residents are able to equip themselves with proper emergency preparedness tools to use at their disposal should they need them. That's why my office partnered with the City's Department of Emergency Management and a host of local elected officials to distribute Go-Bags.

Residents must have attended the virtual presentation on September 14th to be eligible to receive a Go-bag at the distributions on September 15th and 21st.

On Tuesday, September 8th from 6 – 7pm, my office will be hosting a Reopening Schools Virtual Town Hall, geared toward parents, caregivers, students and educators.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney will be the featured guest speaker and we have also invited the Department of Education to answer your questions on how to guarantee a safe reopening plan.

My office brought together a team of experts to discuss the concerns that many families everywhere are facing during the pandemic. The panel will feature a social worker to discuss how to better support yourself and your family, an educator who will provide tips for reducing screen time and creating a routine for nursery to middle school, representatives from the Dept. of Education, the United Federation of Teachers and more.
