Citizens Committee for NYC Neighborhood Grant Program

The application deadline for the Citizens Committee for NYC Neighborhood Grant is January 23, 2017. The NYC Neighborhood Grants program awards grants of up to $3,000 to neighborhood groups, public school-based groups, and NYCHA tenants associations working to improve the quality of life across the city. Roosevelt Island Historical Society (RIHS)

RIHS provides a range of services to residents of District 5. These services include a year-round Visitor Center where the staff provides maps, guidance on island sites and materials about the island's history and development; year-round tours for groups and individuals; and special interest presentations on island and local history, held during the late winter and early spring in collaboration with the Roosevelt Island branch of the New York Public Library. Families for Safe Streets Outreach Program

Have you been personally impacted by a traffic crash? If you have, you are not alone. Families for Safe Streets is comprised of individuals who have lost loved ones or were injured in a crash, including pedestrians, cyclists and others. Families for Safe Streets was formed five years ago to advocate to change the culture of reckless driving in our city and now also provides an array of support services. Every 44 hours, someone is killed in NYC as a result of a crash. Over 150 people are injured each day. Get help with logistical challenges and be supported by people who understand.
